Workout 2

Wednesday April 18th Felt much better today. Time to split my routine up into a strength training day and a cardio/endurance day. Today was more of a strength training day utilizing bodyweight exercises. Since yesterday ended up being a "light" day, today was a heavy day.

Workout consisted of a 5-6 minute light jog to an outdoor workout area.  After this I did some hill work: 4 reps of backwards up hill and forwards down hill.  Then, I climbed up the side of a soccer goal post and did pull-ups to failure to strengthen uppper body. When done, I practiced headstand / handstand form.

Handstand form is getting much better but I still cannot complete a full handstand or handstand push-up without support. But I'm getting close. With my legs supported against a tree or something I am able to do handstand push-ups just not freeform yet.

I also practiced headstand.  The headstand is pretty much a no brainer now. Today I practiced my breathing during the headstand.  This helped to ease the pressure of my head / neck veins from feeling like they were exploding. Next time I'll try the sirsasana yoga pose.

Finished workout with more bodyweight exercises. I managed 2 sets of upright rows, 2 sets of triceps dips, 1 set of hanging ab crunches and 1 set of duck and dodge push-ups.  All in all a great day. A little longer than usual but I felt I had to make up for such a lazy workout yesterday. Was warm today too.

I saw the Gay Men's Chorus LA in concert on Saturday. What an awesome performance.  This show had me worry all night though. There was a lack of knowledge in regards to seating chart. I received blank looks when I asked where my seat was. Then, when I got to the row I was supposed to be in the seat numbers were off. My ticket said seat 103 and yet I sat in seat 10, I think. Overall, the concert was fabulous. I love how they chose TV and movie themed Christmas tunes. Snow Meiser and Heat Meiser were a blast. Thank you for a wonderful performance. I had a fabulous time and look forward to next year.
